NTWRK's 2023 Tax Guide

Sellers on NTWRK who have earned $600 or more in revenue within this calendar year in the U.S. will receive a 1099-NEC from Stripe, starting mid-January 2024.

To ensure you're prepared, please check for an email from Stripe prompting you to confirm your tax information (e.g., name, address, and SSN or EIN).

  • 1099 forms report non-wage income to the IRS and state tax departments. This differs from wages, salaries, and tips, which are typically reported on the federal W-2 form. These are delivered to recipients by January 31 via mail or electronically.

  • Stripe will send an email inviting you to create an account and log in to Stripe Express, where you can update your tax information, manage tax forms, and track your earnings.

    Simply tap on 'Get Started'!

You can login to Stripe Express via your desktop or your mobile device using this link: https://connect.stripe.com/express_login

  • Step 1: If you haven't created a Stripe Express account, you'll be prompted to on this screen.

Step 2: If you already have an account or after completing Step 1, you'll be asked for a two-factor authentication (2FA) code sent to the phone number associated with your account.

Step 3: You may be asked to fill in some details to verify your identity. If you're having trouble completing this, please send us an email at sellers@thentwrk.com

Step 4: Once logged in, you'll be taken to the Tax forms page of Stripe Express. Click on 'Confirm your tax information'.

Step 5: Review and/or update the following details and click 'Save' to continue.

Step 6: Review the following terms and 'Agree' for paperless delivery. If you do not consent to e-delivery by mid-January 2024, your 1099 form will be mailed to the address on file.

Step 7: Optional - You can choose to request a paper copy in addition to the e-delivery of the tax form.

  • Stripe uses the email information associated with your NTWRK account to send you an invitation to sign up for Stripe Express.

If you're unsure what email this is, you can send us a message at sellers@thentwrk.com.

  • Possible reasons for not receiving an invitation include:

    • You earned less than the threshold for your form type.
    • Your email address on file is incorrect, missing, or unable to receive email.
    • Your specific account is unsupported on Stripe Express (in uncommon situations where multiple users are sharing the same account, or the same email address is being used on more than 20 accounts).

If you can’t locate an email from Stripe, please go through the following checklist:

    • Search your inbox for an email titled: “Get your NTWRK 2023 tax forms faster by enabling e-delivery”. It may be in your spam/junk mail folder.
    • Check any other email addresses you may have used to sign up for NTWRK, or reach out to us at sellers@thentwrk.com to update your email and have an invite email sent to you.
  • You'll receive an email informing you that it's ready! The subject line reads "Your NTWRK 1099 tax form is ready".

You can also login to your Stripe Express account and download it from there. Please note, you may be prompted to enter the last four digits of the TIN on your 1099 tax form before being able to download a copy of the form.

  • Downloads aren’t available for 24 hours after an update has been made to any personal identity information including name, address, business type, or TIN.

  • The IRS must report accurate information on your 1099 tax form, requiring your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Individuals use their Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), while businesses use the Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Tax authorities expect to see the income reflected in your individual or business tax return.

If you have any questions or concerns, please send us an email at sellers@thentwrk.com.
