How To Use Stream Keys

What is a Stream Key and what can I do with it?

Stream Keys are unique identifiers that can be used to stream to NTWRK through other services like Open Broadcaster Service (OBS). By using these services you can leverage an array of different professional broadcasting tools like on screen graphics, transitions and animations. 

Stream keys will only be available 2 hours before your show is set to go live.

OBS Stream Configuration

1. Open OBS Studio
2. Open OBS Settings, and select Stream. 
3. In Service field, choose “Custom…” 
4. Populate the NTWRK provided Server and Stream Key in the provided sections
5. Do not check the “Use authentication” box

Safe Area

Video content within the NTWRK app is cropped and zoomed to optimize display across various devices. Since there's no standardized safe area due to the diversity of devices, use the red outline in the guide below to ensure the essential parts of your content are well-framed.

• From top: 100px
• From sides: 97px
• From bottom: 235px

Please be aware that viewers of your show will have a product catalogue circle on the bottom right corner of their screen. 

Viewers will not be able to see objects placed in that corner.

Recording Your Show & Going Live

Show recordings are currently not supported when streaming from OBS. Therefore, if you want a rerun to be displayed on NTWRK, you will need to record the show yourself.

To start recording, use the Start Recording button in the main OBS window. 

Then click the Start Streaming button in the main OBS window to begin streaming to NTWRK. 

If you want to preview what the show will look like, start broadcasting and enter the show from your phone as a regular user through the feed, not the seller tab. Don't worry – starting the broadcast won't switch the show to 'Live,' but keep in mind that users who access the show early might catch a glimpse of you adjusting camera settings.

During the show

During the show you can transition scenes or manipulate sources via OBS as desired. 

To view the NTWRK chat, you can enter the show on your phone as a regular viewer, or view your show on thentwrk.com

Remember to turn the sound off on your phone to prevent feedback. 

End the show

1. Click the Stop Streaming button in the Agora RTC Tool window.
2. Click Stop Recording in the main OBS window. The recording location will be shown in the bottom left of the OBS window.
